I am not doing so good in this part of my journey...9 yrs later. :-(
Take a deep breath....you're going to be fine. Try to get a little sleep tonight. I'll keep you in my prayers and my best advice? Give it to God, He'll see you through it. Stay positive, especially during recovery, and you'll be home before you know it. Let us know how you're doing as soon as you feel up to it and if we can do anything to help you along the way. Good luck and congrats on beginning a new way of life!
Hey--just think of it as the beginning of your new life!! I am 13 weeks out and have lost 41.1 pounds since surgery! You will be fine and will be so glad you did it! I really had no major pain...just uncomfortableness for a couple of days after. Slept in the easy chair for about 3-4 nights because it was not comfortable to sleep on either side. After 3-4 days in easy chair, slept with pillow under the side of my tummy. Only had to do that for about 3 days. I was a little tired but I truly think I could have gone back to work within about 4-5 days. I was off longer since I teach and it was Christmas break, but I was out tooling around at Walmart, the mall, etc. Just got a little tired, that's all! Good Luck tomorrow!
Darlin, the night before surgery I was alone at home and a basket case! I sat here at my computer, after reading, re-reading and trying to figure out what on earth had I done to get to the point where I needed surgical intervention to make me lose weight. I sat here and sobbed for about an hour before I composed myself and decided I had to be stronger than that.
It wasn't easy, that last night, but I got through it, got through surgery and here I am, 18 months later, normal weight, no medications, no CPAP machine and sporting a size 4! Was it easy.....no. Did I make the right decision? You bet your hiney I did.
Please know we are all here for you, red eyes, snotty nose and all. We will be here for you and for everyone else traveling this amazing road.
Take care,
Susan
Congratulations! You will be fine. It is normal to have a lot of feelings the night before! We are all here for you. I do have to ask, is that a cigarette in your hand in your picture? If so, did you quit? Your having lap band to change your life and to have better health, throwing away the cigarettes is even better, and smoking can make your surgery harder and same with going under anesthesia, and also with your healing.
I know from experience, I was sent home from the OR (I was already prepped, IV's in and epidural they were ready to wheel me in and put me under) because I was still smoking. I had to wait over a year after I quit smoking before I could have weightloss surgery.
