Lets talk about.....
what has been the best and worst part of this journey?? If you are pre op, your question is, what is your #1 goal w/the surgery??
The best part of my journey has been getting healthy, and not having to take a handfull of expensive pills, I traded all that for my vitamins!!! Having my life back and feeling human, and as most of you know, my greatest personal victory was being able to get on my horse again w/o the assistance of people, a milk crate or bucket, just throw my foot in the stirrup and mount up.
Needless to say, the horse is grateful as well!!!
As for the worst, there really hasnt been a worst, the hardest part is getting all my nutrients in. Some days I feel like this wild ride is more like a science project, but even in all of that, I'd do it again tomorrow, twice if I needed too.
Have a great day, and tomorrow, the question is up to someone else, having a small outpatient procedure done, will be zonked all day. Play nice, but do come out and play!!!
Hugs,
Rhonda D.
The best part of this whole weight loss journey has to be the losing weight part!! LOL! Its amazing! I am so happy to be thinner! Its nice to be able to go into a regular store and shop and actually find things that fit and are flattering! Not to mention cheaper! I hated going to those specialty stores where they charge so much more for clothes that were awful!! Also, its nice to be able to get up and down out of the floor. Before, my second graders just about wore me out...now I think I sit on the floor more than they do!!! LOL! Also, I'm healthier. I did not have any co-morbidities which was very surprising to the doctors considering how overweight I was! The only health issue I have is asthma. I know it will not go away, but it sure has lessened in frequency and intensity since my surgery!!
HMMMMM.......THE WORST PART......NOT SURE... I honestly don't think that I have experienced a WORSE part yet!! Thank goodness. The only thing that I can think of is how much more money I am spending on clothes now!!! I seem to be needing smaller sizes every time I turn around. Don't get me wrong though....I AM NOT COMPLAINING!!!!
Anyway, just a few of my experiences during this whole journey!!

I am pre-op and just trying to figure out this whole process. I am a Respiratory Therapist and work in a hospital. I am on my feet constantly and would love to come home without my feet and knees hurting. I also am looking forward to being able to chase after my 2 year old without feeling like I am going to have a heart attack.
Well the best part for me would have to be the losing weight and having nice clothes to wear.
The worst part for me is ongoing, and that is eating. I hate to eat. Sometimes I still eat with a baby spoon. I get sick half the time, probably more my fault than surgery's fault because I tend to not chew it enough, or eat slowly enough. That's why I try to eat with a baby spoon, because I have to take a small bite when using a baby spoon.
