Well, no way I can get my insurance to pay(Cigna).  They have a written exclusion for WLS How do I go about getting scheduled now?

I'm going to have to go the self-pay route also.  My insurance specifically excludes WLS also.  I'm going to use savings or sell stock to pay for it instead of financing because I don't want that big debt.  Good luck.

Do you mean get your SURGERY scheduled or your INITIAL CONSULT with your SURGEON scheduled?

I feel ya! My insurance also had an exclusion and therefore I was self-pay.
The first thing I did was made a list of questions. I talked to 4 different Dr's offices on the phone to get information. I attended 3 different seminars and met all 3 Docs. I scheduled appointments, (which was not cheap) with 2 of the Docs and interviewed both of them. Then I decided which one was the right Doctor for me. In my case it was Dr. Gibbs. I told Dr. Gibbs & Carrie (his nurse) I was ready to proceed. They took care of the rest including scheduling hospital and labs, scheduling with a nutritionist (JoBeth) which was great, and even took care of letting me know how much to make each cashiers check out to and whom to make it out to. Bacically, all I did was follow directions and show up for surgery! I feel with self-pay, I was probably more in control with my health care than if I would have had insurance to pay. This is only my experience and I only offer it as an example of what I did.
Good luck with your journey and if I can be of any help, just ask. I may not know the answer but someone on here will.
Huggs,
Rhonda T
