My husband and I have our 6 month check up with Dr. Gibbs on April 3rd.  Does anyone know what type of blood work we need? We want to have it done before we go see Dr. Gibbs.                                                        Thanks                                                            Rhonda

Hi Rhonda, You should have a sheet of paper in the blue packet that you got at Dr. Gibbs' seminar that lists the labs to be drawn for follow ups.  I'll list them here for you and you should try to have them done at least 2 weeks before your appt. to make sure there is time to get the results back and then faxed to Dr. Gibbs.  If he doesn't have your labs then he'll have them drawn at his office during your visit.  Its your choice, you can have them done early and faxed to him or you can wait and have them done at his office.  Here's the list: 1. CBC 2. Iron 3. IBC 4. Calcium 5. Albumin 6. Alkaline Phosphatase 7. Vitamin B-12 8. Vitamin D (OH) 25 9. Parathyroid (PTH) 10. Vitamin D The last 2 JoBeth (nut) added.  If you have them drawn early the results need to be faxed to The Surgical Clinic of Central Arkansas at (501)-227-0490. Hope this helps!

Hello Rhonda,
Dr. Gibbs is also my Doc. The answer to your questionis, If you will look in your folder (mine is blue) you will find your eating guide and nutrition info, GB diet sheet and also in there you will find a sheet of paper titled
The Surgical Clinic of Central Arkansas
Six Month / One Year

It is an order for your PCP to draw labs and then you will have your pcp fax to Dr. Gibbs office. They suggest you have labs drawn at least 2 weeks prior to your Doc appointment. If you can't find yours, let me know and I will fax or email you a copy.
Hope this helps and good luck to the both of you!
Rhonda T.
ps It would be a good idea for you to take a copy of your lab results with you to Dr. Gibbs office just in case your pcp does not fax them.
