Protein Shakes
you can buy body fortress at wal mart and also 6 star muscle fuel....buy whey....I dont know that it hurts to drink them....my husband drinks them and he skinny.....people drink them to gain weight, gain mucsle or supplement their protein intake.....
are you scheduled for surgery?? you can always ask your doc.....I am 7 years post op and my surgery was done outside of Boston......every doc is different and times have changed since I had my RNY.
you can buy them online at allthewhey.com.....i think thats the name. of course they are more expensive....I would go with walmart to try them...they should cost less than 20 buck per container. You can buy vanilla flavor and add sugar free tang or sugar free nesquick, you can make them with water or milk.....add ice and it is more like a milkshake....you can add powdered crystal lite, fruit p-nut butter...possibilities are endless......I use a shaker.....used to use a blender....too busy for all that now...I just run 8oz tap water or room temp water from my bottle and shake shake shake....
now they are not as tasty as a mcdonalds shake...but thats the purpose, they are to be healthy for you not taste fantabulous....thats my word of the day...FANTABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!
OK well I gotta go.....
ciao
and good luck

I am not doing so good in this part of my journey...9 yrs later. :-(
I buy the whey protein from Wal Mart. It's like 14 bucks for a canister. I buy the chocolate and the vanilla. So that way I can have one flavor in the morning and another at night.
Since your post-op you could drink one as a meal replacement. I don't think it would hurt anything.
You can buy sugar free pudding and put a spoonful of the powder in your glass with protein powder and change the flavors up, like chocolate protein and banana cream pudding powder.
Or you can try Vanilla protein powder with a crystal light packet (or walmart brand or wylers sugar free drink packets).
There are endless concoctions you can come up with using protein powder, so that it never gets boring.
