I don't understand this???
I am still new on trying to figure out how to get approved for insurance. My husband has insurance through Cigna and I called them today and they told me that weightloss surgery is not covered on the plan that his employer has. I have considered signing up for other insurance companies but how do I find out if they cover it or not, before signing up? I am really wanting this weight loss surgery REALLY REALLY BAD !!! I will appreciate any info someone can give me. Tabitha 5'8" 297 pounds

Sorry I can't help, try this site, type in key words to search your topic. Hope this helps.
Tabitha,
I have no answers for you, but I just wanted to say good luck, and hi neighbor. I live in Fordyce, and would love to be a close support partner. I had my surgery in Feb of last year w/Dr. Baker, and have lost 120+ pounds. Give me a yell, and we might actually know each other.
Hugs,
Rhonda D.
P.S. Your husbands name is not Rusty is it??
I went through this exact same thing. I am so sorry to tell you that I didn't find not one company who actually covers the surgery but every single company I talked to actually penalizes you for being overweight. I finally had to go the Working Disabled route and what an uphill battle that has been. I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Maybe you can have a look at the Insurance forum here on OH. Browse through a few pages of posts and you can probably find what your looking for.
