NWA Lap Band Surgeons?

I live in Bentonville and am considering lap-band surgery.  Can anyone provide recommendations or information about surgeons in this area?  Also, because my insurance will not cover the procedure I will have to go the self-pay route.  Any information on the cost of the procedure would be much appreciated. Dr. Josh Roller in Springdale does them. I think 14lk is the price. His website is www.northwesthealth.com/weightloss and he gives free seminars in his office every other friday. I am a patient of his and considering the ryn gastric bypass, but from what i have heard at the support group meetings, his lap band pts are doing great.

I live in Fayetteville and had lap band surgery on December 19, 2007.  I am self pay and Dr. Roller is my doctor.  It was right at 18,000 and I just paid $600 for a year's worth of fills instead of going the $100 each price for fills or UNfills!  I just figured that I had spent AT LEAST that on at least 4 different cars and didn't think twice about it!!!  So I will keep driving my 2002 Toyota Rav with 105,000 miles on it and I got and am getting a NEW ME!!  Good luck!  If you have any questions, let me know!  Information about Dr. Roller and his credentials can be seen by clicking on his name under mine!

Some also go to Mexico for that, and I know someone who did and it was $8,000 and then Dr. Roller is following her, check out the Lap Band forum and the South of the Border forum. AmyBeth

I agree with what everyone else said above me. I too am one of Dr. Roller's patients. I had the gastric bypass...Give them a call... they are all awesome people and very friendly and helpful.

Everyone at the support group meetings are very helpful and can offer support and great advice.

I am also a patient of Dr. Roller I had ryn though. But I would reccomend him to anybody. He and his staff are great. They will anser all your questions and are very nice about it.

i would most certainly check out local before going to mexico.. yea, it sounds cheap.. ever heard of you get what you paid for?? i too know someone who went to mexico for her lap band and now she can't find anyone near her that will do the fills... for one, she has no records of what was done and can't seem to get them from the clinic over there and another w/o that info no one wants to touch her until they know exactly what was done. she had to keep going back for her fills and that is getting to be pricey.. seh would have been better off to find someone in her own state and paid for it there. i am sure she sees now it would have been cheaper and better in the long run with all the follow ups that are required for lap bands.. just my opinon.. way all your pros and cons before going far from home.
