Not our day
Hey guys,
Here I am, begging for your prayers again, this time not for me.
Today, my brother in law and nephew had a badddddd wreck centered a Pine Tree and hurt my nephews nose really bad. The brother in law sprained his ankle, and due to the wreck, very emotionally traumatized.
His son, 17 year old autistic, was not so lucky. His face hit the hand hold handle and split his nose wide open on the right side, and they had to ambulance him to Childrens Hospital this evening In this yucky weather, to do reconstructive and possible major plastics to him. Please keep him and his family in your prayers. His mom rode in the ambulance w/him, but none of us were able to go, due to this wonderful fricking weather. Hope to go up tomorrow, but just keep them in your prayers, as this is very hard on all of us. We are a close family, and kills us to not go and support mom. Dad is home w/his ankle up and oldest son catering to him. Will update you as he progresses.
Hugs and love,
Rhonda D.
Man, Rhonda...just can't catch a break can you? I am so sorry you're having to deal with all of this. I will definitely keep your whole family in my prayers, I don't know them all but He does. If you'll send me your last name and the name of your nephew I'll add them to our churche's email prayer chain.
Glad you didn't try to travel in this weather...my husband barely managed to get out of the driveway to go to work a few minutes ago. Hope y'all are staying warm!
Take care and let us know how your nephew is doing..and you too!
HUGS!!
Hey Denise, Thanks so much, their name are (Daddy-Robert Courtney) and son Joshua Courtney. Just talked to my sister and he is in sugery right now and will be for a while, got 2 surgeons working on him, under light sedation and total face numbing. No, hasnt been my year, but God is good and I am tough, so we will make it. Hope we see you next Thursday, if I feel like coming after the tests. Thaks so much for your prayers and concern, Im soooooooooooo thankful for my OH family, we have a strong bond. I'll keep you posted. Hugs, Rhonda D.
Thanks for the info Rhonda, I'll add them to our prayer list. I know what a helpless feeling you have when you can't get to a loved one that has been involved in an accident. Six years ago my brother, his wife, and two children were hit head on by a drunk driver while driving home after a trip to Wal-Mart. The wife and daughter had minor injuries, but my brother and nephew were nearly killed. My brother's left leg was shattered from the hip to the knee, almost lost it but the amazing surgeons were able to save it...after numerous surgeries he still has a steel rod in his leg to support it, only a hollow femur bone. Because of his injuries, he lost his career as a police officer and is now on permanent disability. My nephew had a sever brain injury...they lost him twice in the ambulance and was given a less than 5% chance of surviving the flight from Crossett to Children't Hospital in LR. He did survive and after about 2 months in the hospital was able to return home. He's 13 now, but has permanent brain damage...no short term memory, difficulty in learning...he's on the maturity level of about an 8 yr. old. While this was happening, I was 4500 miles away living in Hawaii...wasn't able to get home for 2 weeks due to my husband's deployment schedule. So I understand where you're coming from...its very scary. I hope he comes through the surgery well and has no lasting permanent injuries...other than a few scars maybe.
I will be at the meeting next week, can't wait to see everybody! Hope you feel up to coming. Oh, and my mother is a Courtney...wonder if there's a relation?
