SOOOOOO!! I'm not consistent because this thread is really early this morning! Got to work a few minutes early and had some spare time to post! Not sure how many of you will be without electricity because of the winter weather (which we have not seen yet in the Delta) but I thought I would chance it and post early anyway. Please reply if you can!! Breakfast- nothing yet.... will probably run down to the cafeteria and get a piece of toast Lunch- BBQ chicken breast and leftover mashed potatoes sprinkled with cheese Snack- almonds or peanuts.....haven't decided yet! Dinner- salmon and wild rice Hope everyone stays WARM and DRY today! Keep your fingers crossed that we get a little snow over here on this side of the state! It sure would be nice for a change!   Karen

Yes I did! I would be gloating, but I've had one of those days where I just feel like a COW all day long.  I also find when I eat breakfast before I drink that I miss not having another meal later in the day.  (Whereas when I skip that traditional breakfast-time meal, I don't miss that.)  Suggestions?

Ok,  I know I havent been posting in this one at all but I have not been making good choices, and didnt wanna be a bad influence. Today has NOT been good, I got up, had 2 cups (12oz each) of coffee.  Just about the time we started to have some oatmeal, late in the morning, I got a call to go get my nephew from school.  Left for there w/no food, and on the way to the school, found my brother in law and his son in a ditch,  BAD WRECK, so, obviously, I got my nephew from school, went and got my sister from work, and we drove to the hospital to meet the ambulance, and spent the entire afternoon in the ER.  While at the hospital, I had a small bowl of chicken and dressing from the cafeteria there ( got family that works there, she fed me, I was shaky).  We have been home about 2 hours, but had no power the first hour and 1/2, and since we are all electric, no food.  Mike is now cooking some hamburger helper. So, my day goes like this 2 12 oz cups of coffee 1/2 cup chicken dressing 4 20 glasses of tea (again, thank god family works in the cafeteria) 2 SF shortbread cookies  Supper will be 1/2 cup hamburger helper On a side note, they took my nephew to childrens to have surgery on his nose, cut the nose completely open, looks like he wa**** w/a hatchet, so he is in the hospital there.  Please pray, hes 17, autistic, and we are all pretty scared, but do to weather, we will not go up until tomorrow. Hugs to you all, Rhonda D.

I haven't been posting regularly either, but not because of poor food choices.  Our internet is soooooooooo slow that I get frustrated trying to post and usually just give up and shut it down...sometimes I hate living in a rural area, can't get DSL. Karen, not sure where you live but I'm in the Delta too...drew county, southeast corner of the state and we NEVER see snow...if we get anything at all it is ice.  Well, we got 4.5 inches of snow at my house and it is still coming down at nearly 10pm.  My husband (police officer) just called and said he made it to work, barely got out of the driveway, but the roads are really bad and will re-freeze tonight.  Thankfully, I don't have to go anywhere tonight or tomorrow but I did miss my physical therapy session and a hair appt. today...rescheduled for monday so no big deal.  We've not lost power, but we have power lines going down all over town so who knows?  If so, me and my 2 girls will just bunk in the living room with the fireplace. Here's my damage for today: B:  1 packet weight control oatmeal with fibersure L:  2 turkey sausage links and 3/4 cup hashbrowns S:  1 snack size bag of protein chips (parmesan crisp---yummy!) D:  1 turkey cheddar bratwurst with 10 steak fries S:  protein bar S: small orange, 1/2 protein bullet Will probably have my usual glass of calorie countdown chocolate milk before bed...it has become a habit that I look forward to every day. I didn't eat much protein today like I usually do, had to rely on supplements to get it all in...I don't like doing that...I think I had too many carbs today, I have a headache.  I've decided that my dizziness and blurred vision upon standing is due to a carb imbalance and not dehydration, so I'm trying to find a good balance that works for me...today obviously was not a good example...I'll do better tomorrow! TOTALS: CAL:1004   FAT:  32   CARBS:  112   PROTEIN:84

I've really been pushing it with the fat intake lately...it has helped my digestive system but I don't like having it that high...today's total was the max allowed daily (30% of total calories with 10% sat.) and I like to keep it below that...guess I need to cut out the daily chocolate protein bar

Hi Denise! I know exactly where you are. I graduated from UAM in 2006. I finished my education degree there. UAM worked in partnership with a local college to offer a Bachelors degree to people who do not live near large universities. Anyway, to make a VERY long story short, I used to drive to Monticello every Friday for a solid year to take classes towards my degree. I complained a lot, but now that I look back it was well worth it and it was a nice little trip for my friends and I. Monticello's not a huge place but its sure bigger than where I live. I live in Lexa which is in Phillips County. The closest "city" that you might know would be Helena. I live about 15 minutes west of Helena. Out in the country on a farm in the middle of nowhere!! Its so peaceful! I hate that there's not much to do but I sure wouldn't want to be anywhere else for long. This is home!! Anyway, just wanted to say hi and I know exactly what you mean about the SLOW internet. Mine is like a snail. It is borderline ridiculous! I try to post most of my things when I am at work because it is like the speed of light compared to my internet connection! It definately gets frustrating at times. I just keep at it tho! Dad said if I didn't have the patience that only teachers tend to have then I surley would have thrown it out the window years ago!!   HE'S RIGHT!!!  Have a good day!   Karen Oh yeah, I know what you mean about snow. We hardly ever see it. About the only chance we have of seeing any is if the storm front comes out of Texas. We got it this time tho! It started about noon. By one o'clock we had an inch. Right before dark, I went out and measured in the front yard where there are no trees or buildings and it was almost 5 inches. I haven't been out this morning but there is way more than there was last night. Just a guess, but I would say that we have somewhere around 6-7 inches. IT'S BEAUTIFUL!!!

I graduated from UAM in 1998...way before they had any of the new buildings they have now, like the new library!  Its a really good school and I love my hometown of Monticello.  You're right, its not huge but I like it that way. My kids and I have been out playing in the snow all morning.  I'm glad they got to see it and play in it because it will probably be another 8-10 yrs. before we see this much again! If you come back this way anytime soon let me know, we'll meet up somewhere!
