Congrats on being on your way. My experience was, Dr. Baker's office called to schedule my 1st appt with him.  It was 2 weeks from the phone call and  surgery was 2 weeks from that 1st appt.

I started the paperwork in January of 2007, and it took me a little while to get everything done, but I had everything turned in to Dr. Baker's office by May and was scheduled for my first appointment in July with a surgery date late in July, but because of my high weight and BM, Dr. Baker felt I was high risk and had me go on the liquid diet for 4 weeks instead of 2, and I went back to see him at the beginning of August and had surgery Aug 15th.  I think it varies from person to person, there are many factors that can affect how long it will be from paperwork to surgery.  Like if Dr. Baker has a large amount of patients at that time, the waiting list can be longer.  Also how long it takes you and your Dr's to get everything done and faxed into Dr Baker are a big factor in the wait as well.  Another big factor is your insurance, some insurances will approve right away while others can take weeks and even months before they approve.  If you have Medicare or Medicaid there is no pre-approval process. Good luck on your journey to weightloss surgery!  Be sure to blog/journal your journey on your profile, it will help you to remember when you had everything done so you can see how long everything takes.
