I've made it throgh the surgery.  I'm sitting here in pain.... not from the surgery mind you... I'm functioning with that pain....  I just need to burp and it won't come  up.  God this is torture.   After the surgery, as I was coming out of the anethisia... my fight/flight responce kicked in.  Apparently, I was wrestling with the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and the rest of the crew.  I remember fighting, and I heard a calming voice say... 'calm down Will, you're out of surgery, we need you to calm down and take some deep breaths.  So, I think it kicked in and I calmed down.  Later that afternoon, the surgeon recounted the incident to me... and let's just say, I was embarrased.  He said he thought I might have torn my stiches, but i didn't.  Whew....  Anyone else heard of something like that happening?   I'm sitting in the hospital trying to burp, and I'll make another post when i'm able...  Thanks for your support!!  You guys rawk!!!!

I once woke up and they said i started screaming and sat straight  up and tried to get off the bed. I think it has something to do with the anesthesia. Or maybe it was all the drugs i took in the 60s...who knows....but i'm just happy to have my bud....save me a seat on the Loser bench....

I love me no matter what....and this surgery will only enhance my inner and outter beauty.

Cause you know I put the FAB in FABULOUS!!!!!

Hey Will! Welcome to the looser side! Glad you let us hear from ya. About the burping.....That is all I did and at 10 months out, I can burp with the best of them! It is a side effect I picked up as a result of the surgery. Are you sipping yet? Just remember to sip, sip, sip and walk, walk, walk! We are so proud for you!

Huggs,

So, thats why Doc Baker had a black eye this morning when I went to see him...No just jokin  It's great you made it to the other side fighting all the way... As for the need to burp...my roomie had that problem when I had my surgery.  I don't remember what they told her or gave her.  But, I know that walking helps with the gas. Like everyone has said, sip, sip, sip and walk, walk, walk  Do what Doc says and read/follow your booklets Best wishes and quick recovery!

Hey Will!  Congrats on making it through surgery!  I remember when I woke up, it wasn't as wild as yours, LOL.  I remember someone saying: Evelyn wake up, honey you got to breathe.  Evelyn breathe, you need to breathe.  And then I opened my eyes and looked over and saw Dr Baker sitting in a chair and writing in a chart (I assume it was probably mine) and I had my CPAP machine on me, and I asked if I was dead.  I hurt so bad, and I didn't have the energy to push the morphine button.  Then I went back to sleep, and drifted in and out of conscience for most the night.  You just make sure you walk as much as you can, you will feel so much better not only physically but mentally you feel better if you walk.  The other patients on the floor would call me speedy, I was walking everywhere.  It was to boring in my room, even though I brought things to do, I didn't really want to do anything, plus walking helped me keep my mind off of food.  Since before surgery I tended to eat mostly when I was sitting down and doing nothing.  I am so proud you took this giant step in your life!!

It's intresting how everyone had something they thought was a little strange during their surgery.  I bet those folks have seen it all and I'm glad for that.   I'm assuming if anything "new" does come up, they don't panic which is usually a bad thing.  I'm at home now.  Took a nap, and now checking on my *online life*  It's amazing how these things back up without you checking on them everyday.  Thanks for all your well wishes and I wish you well on your future losses as well.  P.S.  Dr. Baker got me back for the 'black eye' ...lol...  He came to my room and made me cough up a small amphibian.... and said....  '"That's not a cough... That's just clearing your throat.  Your gonna have to cough from deeper down than that. "   So, I consider us even...
