Question for the girls
I am doing much better to start off with except fot my left side. I am thinking that my port may be on my left side but not sure. Anyone else hav eany trouble with really sharp pain in your side? Also I am on depo (birth control shot) and have not had a period in two years, well the past 3 days I have been spotting. Im thinking that it may just be the trama to my stomach, but just wondering also if anyone had a messed up period? Thanks Holly
Hey Holly, I had my surgery on the 21st and my left side is sore too because that is where my port is. The only time I have sharp pains is if I move too suddenly or something. Also, on my 2nd day post-op I spotted for a bit. I just had my period a week before surgery so I knew it was not time, but I only spotted for a little while that one day. Hope you are doing better!

The surgery definitly makes your period go wacky. I had a short period when I came home from surgery (last August) and never really had another one since, except for maybe a few times I had spotting for like a day or two, but nothing close to a normal period.
They asked me about my periods when I saw my surgeon last week, and they didn't seem concerned about it, so I won't worry either and enjoy the lack of period while I can.

I didn't experience sharp pain near my port, but it was tender for
a while after surgery.
As for periods, I'm on birth control and I've always been regular.
I had to stop birth control 2 days before surgery and started my
period the day after surgery, so I can't help you with the spotting
issue either.
When it doubt, always contact your doctor!
Hope you're feeling better.
