I started my shakes on 1/28.  At that time, I weighed 579.6 lbs.  I went and got weighted on 2/4 and weighed 568.8 for a total of 10.8 lbs. I had my consultation with Dr. Baker and staff on 2/7 and weighed 568.4 lbs for a total of 11.2 lbs. Today, I went in and weighed 536.0 lbs, for a grand total of 53.6 lbs. It was a shock to say the least.  My wife had been telling me I was getting smaller but I just couldn't see it.  Well... now I have the proof I need.  I'm happy.  I'm sooooo nervous.  I'm scheduled for surgery 2/27.  It's getting closer and closer.  Wish me luck! Edit:  Oopppsss... that's supposed to read...  43.6 lbs.   Sorry Rhonda!

Way to go !  That is almost 55lbs in a little less than a month !  GREAT JOB!  You will be amazed to see what the next month brings. Congrats on making the decision to start this journey.........Trust me, you have forgot what it feels like to "FEEL GOOD" You are going to feel better everyday and have strength again to do the things you use to do. It's normal to be nervous, I think every one of us were! Make you a list of what to take to the hospital, get your bags packed......it will be over before you know it. We will all be thinking of you this week. Let us hear from  you when you get back home. Huggs to you both, Rhonda T

Congrats on the weight you have lost so far!!  When I had surgery, I brought a puzzle magazine, a book, some needlework to work on.  I also brought my cellphone charger (if you have a cellphone, and you have games on it, or internet or camera, whatever, DONT FORGET THE CHARGER!!).  I had to keep mine plugged up, I kept running the battery down playing games, and taking pictures of everything.  Also some comfortable flip flops or house shoes, since you will be getting up and walking alot.  I also brought a house coat and my jacket, I was cold after my surgery, and also I put on my housecoat whenever I walked up and down the hallway.  I never really had time to do the puzzle magazine or work on my needlework.  Do not bring any chapstick, lipgloss, gum or anything like that.  My mom bought me some chapstick and they wouldn't let me have it, they said it would make me salivate.  If your on a CPAP machine, make sure you bring it with you.  Since I take oxygen with my CPAP I made sure I brought my little plastic thing that lets me hook my oxygen tube to my cpap mask.
