I spent the day in the ER yesterday!
Well my one year mark was Sat 2-16 and last year I went home on 2-18, well this year I spent the day in the ER on 2-18, what are the chances?
I thought I was having a heart attack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wrong, gallbladder!
I had posted a few weeks ago about having been having trouble with food and only doing liquids and now I know where all that and the morning sickness was coming from.
So I am having surgery on Thursday to remove my gallbladder, can you believe I made it one year and then it happened.
Anyone with gallbladder experience let me know how you did, I doing outpatient and then coming home, and back to work in Monday, is that reasonable?
Thanks
AmyBeth

Hi Amy,
I too had gallbladder surgery. I found out I had gallstones when they did a body scan on me before I had chemo when I had cancer. All those times I thought I was just having indegestion, it was my gallbladder. Then about one year after the scan, one day the pain was so bad, I, like you, didn't know if it was the gallbladder or if I was having a heart attack. So off to the ER we went. Found out it was the gallbladder and they told me I needed to call my surgeon and have it removed. So about a week later out it came. I went into out patient that morning and was back home about 1 o'clock. You will be sore for a while. But depending on your job, you should be ok. You can't pick up anything heavy for a couple of weeks. And trust me you won't want to wear a bra for a couple days either. And, you will probably want to wear pants that have elastic waist for a couple of weeks. I am so glad I had it taken out. Haven't had any problems since. I wish you the best and a very speedy recovery.

So sorry you had to go through that! I had my gallbladder taken out 8 yrs. ago, just 3 months after having my first child (via c-section). My attack was so awful...I really thought I was having a heart attack, but it turned out to be gallstones.
I did mine outpatient too...had it done around 8 am and was home that afternoon. I was a little sore but not bad, at 11pm that night I was walking the hall with my baby because she wouldn't go to sleep for anyone else. I don't remember any major soreness or anything, just the usual not picking up heavy objects, etc. I think going back to work on Monday is very reasonable if you have a sit down job, just take it easy over the weekend if you can. I had 3 small incisions that are aren't even visible anymore, healed really quick. You should be fine.
Good luck and keep us posted!
