I am 2 months post op and I've lost a total of 50 lbs. In the past two weeks I've only lost 3 lbs. Is it normal for our weight loss to slow down after we get through those first initial weeks? I'm looking at my food journal and don't see anything out of whack. I've been getting my protein and liquids. Has anyone experienced this? I'm getting frustrated and I wasn't expecting to feel this way so soon. Any words of advice?

Everybody and every surgery is different. Are you working out?  Are your "liquids" the required 64 oz of water?  It is normal for the weight loss to slow but I dont know about the time frame.  At least you are still losing......3 pounds is great!!!!! Dont be discouraged. take care tammy

First let me say you deserve a big Congrats You have lost 50 lbs in 2 months! WOW...When is the last time you lost that much weight in that short time? I am 10 months out and let me assure you YOUR WEIGHT HAS NOT STOPPED!  Your body is in shock from the surgery and it takes time for it to catch up. The 1st thing ya need to do is quit weighing all the time. I weigh in on Sunday morning and ONLY then. Make sure you are exercising, getting all your liquid is sooooo important and do not forget your vitimins. Now would be a great time for you to measure yourself so you can compare it in the future. I measured my bust, waist, hips, neck, thighs, ankles, wrist, neck , and arms. In the last 10 months I have lost a total of 52 1/2 onches. At 2 months out , you are loosing fat and it is being replaced with muscle. Remember, muscle weighs more than fat. Try to stay busy and this too will pass. Keep your chin up and one foot in front of the other.........Tomorrow is a different day and there will be less of you to love!  Hope this helps. Huggs, Rhonda T

Yep, it's time to back away from the scale!!!  The scale is not your friend right now!!!  Everyone is right, your body needs a little time to catch up with itself and before you know it, you'll be losing again.  You're not doing anything wrong, in fact, everything (but that dang scale) is perfect. Keep the faith.....these things happen.  Did you take your measurements before your surgery?   If you did, now is the best time to take them again. Many times when your weight loss slows, you will notice the inches going down instead. You're doing great
