Have any females had this experience?

I had lap band almost a year ago. (My 1 yr anniversary is Friday) I have lost 148 pounds so far and have about 33 pounds to go.  The problem I'm having is with my monthly cycle. It has gone crazy! It's almost nonstop and when it does stop it is only for a couple of weeks. My gyn put me on birth control pills but that hasn't helped. They even made the dose stronger. I'm going to my gyn next month for my regular checkup but thought I'd post here to see if anyone else has had this problem. By the way, I'm 41 years old. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks so much!

I can't help you much.  I had an endomitrial ablation in May.  the lining of my uterus was cotorized (sp?) and I hardly bleed at all now.  If you aren't going to have any kids in the future, ask about it.  It's been great for me.  Eliza

I haven't had any changes to my cycle. A good friend of mine has had frequent & heavy periods for several years now.  She thought it was part of aging, so she didn't worry about it.  Now she is having a hysterectomy tomorrow because they say her utersus is enlarged and  she has many cysts on her ovaries. It could be nothing, but it's always wise to check with your doctor.   Good luck!!
