Hello Everyone, I am wandering if any of you had problems with bloating (in the hands and feet especially) that has resolved after surgery and if so, how long did it take??? Thanks, Wendi

Wendi,  Hey, I just wanted to tell you about my swelling!!! I was on 3 fluid pills a day, sometimes 4, I had lymph edema in my right leg and my fingers on both hands.  I had days that my feet and hands looked like the Pillsbury Doughboy.  When I had surgery, I didnt take any fluid pills in the hospital and thought, yeah, I'll have to double up and live in the bathroom when I get home.  Guess what?? I didnt have to take any.  This surgery is so amazing.  I am now 11 1/2 months out and I have not taken a fluid pill since Feb. 11, 2007.   I know everyone is different, but mine seemed to go away almost immediately.  I feel like this is because for the first time in my life, I was eating healthy, not packing in the salt, and getting more exercise.  Good luck on your adventourous journey.  It wont always be easy, but it will always be worth it. Let us know if we can help you further. Rhonda D.

Thanks for the info. I am hoping that I will not have to take the fluid pills anymore after surgery too. As far back as I can remember, I have had issues with water retention. I am happy for you in you journey and hope to join all of you on the losing side really soon.

I did have problems with swelling in both my feet and ankles (on both sides).  I did not have problems with swelling in my hands hardly ever, but it did happen occassionally.   I have not had ANY swelling since my surgery.

I used to retain fluid badly in my ankles.  All of  that fluid disappeared when I started my pre-op liquid diet and hasn't returned since.  YAHOO!
