Hey guys, just wondered if we were eating today?? Today my day is as follows:   Breakfast: 10 oz coffee w/splenda and creamer Snack: 3 Tbsp peanut butter Lunch: Chinese buffett Snack: Slice cinnamon raisin bread SF Dinner: Bowl of Grapenuts w/protein powder sprinkled on Not a good day for me, we were on the road most of the day, and my guts are not in a good mood lately, so I just drink crystal light, take my vitamins and get a protein shake in 2 times a day. Sorry I havent been around much, been kinda down, fighting depression alot, so just keep me in your thoughts, and I'll try to eat better. Rhonda

Hey Karen, No, not blown away, just busy at work which kept me from coming here to play with my friends LOL Do you as a lap bander have protein requirements like we do? Even if you don't, a "normal" body requires 60-80 grams of protein a day for muscle, blood vessel and tissue health.  If you eat on the run in the morning, maybe try a slice or two of deli turkey wrapped around a piece of low fat string cheese.  One slice LF whole wheat bread made into a turkey or turkey ham sandwich. Half of an English muffin with some low fat cheese melted on it. It's all about making healthy choices now. Gotta keep you healthy!!! Happy Hump Day....maybe a snow day this week???  Hope, hope!

Hey Susan! Yes lap banders have the same protein requirements. They ask that you eat 60-80 grams with 60 being the absolute minimum that you get. I have a hard time with the whole protein thing. I posted a question about protein powders and supplements and things so I am hoping to get some ideas. Thanks for the suggestions. I usually get about 20 grams of protein at breakfast but I seem to not be able to on Tuesdays and Wednesday because I am on duty at school and then my day is already moving along at a fast pace. I was saying the other morning that I am going to have to start getting up earlier to get a better breakfast in but it is SOOOOO hard to get out of bed on these cold mornings. Anyway, thanks again for the suggestions!   Karen

Yeah, I didn't get home until almost 9:00 and my dinner at 6:00 didn't do well, so I was hungry. Needed to eat something but really didn't want to because it was so late. Decided to have a small bowl of my meatball soup, got on the scale this a.m. and gained a pound. Probably from that dang soup sitting there all night.   AGHHHHH I don't buy regular sausage anymore, the turkey stuff is just as good, even the Italian ones.  We've even switched to Eggbeaters (Southwest type) to reduce DH's fat and it's really, really good....spicy! Hugs

Hay Honey, Sorry you're not doing well!  Have you been taking your vitamins??? A lack of B-12 can effect your neurological functions. It wouldn't hurt you a bit to go to any Kroger Pharmacy and ask for a B-12 shot. They give them without a RX and cost $15. They'll even bill Medicare for you. You know I'm saying this out of love and concern, but you have to eat better.  Your health depends on it! And we depend on you Hugs
