What's you favorite protein shake?

I drink a shake mix from Arbonne.  It's expensive, a pain to order ahead, but it taste o.k.  I am shopping for others, so if you have a favorite, I'd love to know about it! Thanks! Eliza

Mine is orange Cream . I make it myself. I buy the Vanilla Protien from Walmart. I put in an orange SF popsicle, 2 or 3 ice cubes, skim milk and 1 scoop of the Vanilla Protien into my magic bullet and wala I have my orange Cream Shake. It is delicious...

That orange cream drink sounds pretty good. I have a question of my own. I have never tried a protein drink before. I have eaten a couple of the bars but I cannot stand the taste or texture of them. What about the protein drinks? Are they grainy when you mix the powder in or are they smooth? Are they thick and chalky tasting? Also, does the powder have a taste? Some things you mix in and can't taste but I was wondering if the protein powder had a strong taste or smell?  Any answers? Thanks in advance!   Karen

Karen, there are so many out there. The only one I like is "Fuzzy Navel" from Syntrax. It's made with water, not milk and is thin like Tang.  I mix in about 1/3 packet of the single Crystal Lite On the Go orange sunrise to make it a little stronger orange flavor. It shows a peach on the label, but I think it tastes like orange. Drug Emporium on Rodney Parham carries a WIDE variety of proteins.  I'll post some websites where you can buy samples of different proteins to try. I'll try to get it done before I go to work today. If not today, I'm off work tomorrow.

Where in Walmart do you find the Vanilla Protien ? I haven't looked for it, but I don't have a clue as to where to start to look for it. Thanks!!

The protien powder is in the Pharmacy area. There are a couple of different flavors and brands. I have the chocolate and the vanilla. They are about $14 for a pretty big jar.
The chocolate, I mix with skim milk, 2or 3 ice cubs and 1 packet of Splenda ( add a little sweet) Mix it in the bullet for about 10 sec. It is prety good also.
I don't really notice any bad texture in them But I prefer them semi frozen. They have the texture of soft serve ice cream. I loved ice cream so this not only gives me my protien but also my craving for ice cream.

I got the HMR 800 protein shakes from Dr. Baker.  I got the vanilla.  The first day I put frozen cherries and ice in it.  It was tolerable...there was a slight grainy/chalky taste to it, tho.  However, today, I put the Wal Mart brand (crystal lights) drink in it...and it was WONDERFUL.  I used one package for 2 drinks (half a package each time.  I don't know how, but I didn't taste the grainy/chalky taste anymore.  (/me shrugs) Good luck!!
