Marti, you're really doing well, but you have to get that protein up!!!! Is there a reason you're not supplementing with a protein drink every day? You may not be losing hair now, but trust me, if this is your normal protein for a day, you're really running the risk of hair loss. Not to mention you need the protein to keep your muscle tone.  Our bodies need 60-80 grams of protein a day. That's a NORMAL person's requirement. If you had a RNY you malabsorb a good portion of what you take in, so you need to be on the higher end of the requirement to allow for that. Even if you had a lap band, you should still strive for 60-80 grams a day. Please know I'm not trying to be harsh, just helpful. Hugs

I don't think you are being harsh.  I use this site to get help and you are helping!!!  My Nut never says anything about protein drinks.  I've shown her my food records and she says that if I am eating 2 oz of meat/fish etc. at each meal and two glasses of milk I should be getting enough protein.  But, if I put it in fitday it never comes up enough.   What types of shakes,, protein supplements do you suggest.  I've tried Carnation Instant Breakfast and it is pretty nasty.  Today I tried this 'Naked Protein Smoothie' that had 20 grams of protein.  It wasn't really bad but I certainly won't be craving it.   Any suggestions would be helpful.

Breakfast: Tomato soup w/ skim milk added & gluten free cracker
Lunch: Leftover homemade veggie soup 
Snack: 1/2 a blended Dr Pepper float from Sonic (Don't yell at me!! LOL) Supper: Leftover tater tot casserole

protein shake B-1 packet weight control oatmeal L-1 slice whole wheat toast, 2 slices of turkey, 1 slice provolone cheese S- 1/4 c Chex mix.  i know...it screamed out to me and I caved D-1 piece of talapia with marinara sauce on top, spinach salad ADS(after dinner snack)--1 c milk Didn't add my calories up, just wanted to make sure I got my protein in.
