I'm in a liquid rut!  I haven't even heard about those flavors!!  I've been drinking Lipton Diet Raspberry White Tea since it came out and just love it. But....it's probably time for me to try something new, never hurts. Don't you just hate it when your time off gets invaded? Not that we don't love our families, but we all need time to ourselves. Don't even get me started about messing with my routine! Enjoy the family anyway!

WOW!! I'm so glad to see that you started this back Susan! I remember posting almost everyday for a while right after I had my surgery ad then it just sort of stopped. Anyway, I'm glad its back and I hope we can keep it going this time. It really gives you some great ideas!!

Today:

Breakfast- 1 scrambled egg

Lunch- 2 whole wheat crackers topped with chicken salad

Dinner- vegetable beef soup (homemade by my Mom)  I just had a fill on Monday and my band is pretty tight which I am very happy about! I have been on just liquids but yesterday I started soft foods and have had no problems so far. This is the tightest my band has ever been. Usually, I can eat more soft foods than this but so far I have gotten full after just five or six small bites! Don't even think about a light snack between meals anymore! Thank goodness!

Hope everyone has a great day and stays warm!!! Isn't that funny?? I used to be the first one moaning and groaning about how HOTT it was. I even slept out from under the covers and with the ceiling fan on during the WINTER! Now I sleep under like three blankets and I am usually wearing a light sweater or jacket all day in my classroom at school! Don't even get hot moving around constantly teaching the kids. Anyone else notice this?   Karen

Hi Karen, Hot...what the heck is hot?  I was wearing sweaters at work during the summer, and would even go outside to warm up now and then! Less fat, less insulation. Glad to hear you got a good fill.  Keep up the great work

Boy, are we just a slave to routine? If I sleep in on my days off my eating schedule is so messed up!  I love TB's pintos and cheese. If I'm out and about I go there and get the beans and sometimes a crunchy taco without the lettuce. Put the meat from the taco into the beans....more protein, no taco shell..... Hope you day is better tomorrow. And yes, tomorrow is another day

Hi Evelyn, Do you ever use Fitday.com to track your food intake? I set up a dummy account to be able to calculate people's daily menus, just to be able to help out.  I put your menu in it and I think you'll be surprised how it comes out. Assuming there are 120 calories in your protein drinks (just used a "cookies and cream" protein I found online, and that you ate 1/4 cup of pumpkin seeds (I would guess a couple of handfuls) here's your numbers. Protein drinks:      Cals:  240   Fat: 3  Carbs:  8   Protein:  44 Taco bell beans               80            3               14               5            Turkey chili                        152         2               19               14         Milk  skim                           107         1               15               10      Yogurt, with fruit               43            0               7                  4         Pumpkin seeds               296            24               8                19 Totals:                              918            33            70               95 Now, the pumpkin seeds look like they're not the good thing after all.  There are more calories in them than your two protein drinks, and more fat that everything else combined. The fat grams alone are 32% of your daily intake. It should be more like 20-25 grams a day Can you replace them with an apple?  What about vegetables, there aren't any here? Can you eat the whole 6 oz container of yogurt for breakfast?  Three oz really isn't enough. I hope I'm not being harsh, just really trying to help here. Let me know if you want me to help you, we can do it via phone or pm's. Hugs

Hi thanks for inputting that info, I do have to say that on the Pumpkin Seeds, I only eat like 15 seeds at a time, which is about 1/8 cup, (30 seeds is about 1/2 cup) And I only eat one kind of pumpkin seeds (David's) and the info I found online for 30 seeds is 160 calories, 12gm fat, 10mg sodium, if I eat half that then thats only 6gm fat, also on the turkey chili, (Campbell's Chunky Tantalizing Turkey - Chili with beans) I found online that 1/2 cup is 90 calories, 12.5 carbs, 4.5 gm sugar, 11.5 gms of fat from calories and 7 gm protein (total fat for 1 cup serving is 2.5 gms so whatever half of that is) Since I am bad a t math, I am not going to try to figure all that out for 3/4 cup, since I believe that is what I wrote I ate. I don't do skim milk, I only buy the 2% reduced fat milk.  But I mix it half and half with water, so if I drink 8oz, only 4oz is milk.  On the Cookies n Cream Protein Powder, 1 serving, which is 1 scoop is: Calories: 130 Calories from fat: 20 Total Fat: 2gm Saturated Fat: 1gm Trans Fat: 0gm Cholesteral: 55gm Sodium: 125mg Potassium: 230mg Total Carbs: 5gm Sugars: 2gm Protein: 23gm I do 2 scoops a day.  I signed up for a couple of food trackers right after surgery, but it was to much for me, trying to figure out for 1 or 2 TBS when serving sizes were listed for 1cup or x amount of ounces, etc,, So I gave up on them.  Plus I got tired of inputting everything all the time.  Maybe I will start back up again.  I am better off just posting here, though, since I come here everyday anyway.

What a great thread for us pre-ops to see what the post-ops can/are eating.great idea!I do have a question for y'all.I've been eating oatmeal for breakfast quite often. After surgrey,Would that be an OK thing to eat?I'm sure it would need to be sugar free oatmeal or with a sugar substitue.I was just curious on that. I'm looking around and trying to soak in all the information from the post-ops as I possibly can.You all have NO idea how much you're my Inspiration and hope. Not meaning to get off topic but I wanted to say,MRS.SUSAN:After I have my surgrey and lose a bunch of weight,I would love for you to give me a new hair-do makeover!*grins*I've not had my hair done at a salon since I was in my early teens!(am now 25)Do you or the place you work at do nails and make up also?I want it all!Especially a new hair do and it'd be so special to have it done by you! Ok!Back on topic now guys heheh

You bet I'll do your hair and nails!!!!  We don't do make up, but my daughter in law is the manager at Glo, a cosmetics store in W LR. Oatmeal will be your friend while you're on soft foods. You will want the sugar free type, and will need to "water" it down with skim milk to make it runny. Have a good one!
