1 year surgiversary!!
One year ago today I had my Lap RNY...it was the best decision I've ever made, sometimes wish I'd done it sooner. I can't believe its been a whole year, really doesn't feel like it. I can remember at just a few weeks post-op thinking to myself "Am I really going to still be so diligent about my protein, vitamins, fluids, etc.. a year from now?" I can now answer that question with an honest YES...even more so because I've proven to myself that it works and I don't ever want to go back to where I was.
I still haven't made it to 100lbs. lost, I'm stuck at 98. BUT I am thrilled to be where I am today. These are my size changes and inches lost:
Jeans...started in a tight size 22, now wear a 7/8 juniors
Tops...started in a 22/24, now wear an 8/10 (medium)
Bra Strap...started at a 42, now wear a 36
Right arm...started at 14 inches, now 10 1/2 in...loss of 3 1/2 in.
Left arm...started at 13 1/2 in., now 10 in...loss of 3 1/2 in.
Right thigh...started at 28 in., now 18 1/2 in., loss of 9 1/2 in.
Left thigh...started at 28 in., now 19 1/2 in., loss of 8 1/2 in.
Waist...started at 46 in., now 30 in....loss of 16 in.
Hips...started at 54 in., now 37 1/2...loss of 17 1/2 in.
People ask me, do you have any regrets? I can honestly say not a one! I wouldn't trade this feeling for anything in the world. Thank you so much to everyone who has offered support and advice over the last year. I wouldn't have made it if it weren't for OH and all of you wonderful people.
Good luck to all of the pre-ops and to all of the new post-ops...hang in there, it is worth it!

Thank you so much to everybody! Even though I haven't reached my personal goal yet, I do feel like I've just crossed the finished line of a marathon...I did it. I have successfully lost a significant amount of weight and now understand how to keep it off in a healthy way.
Good luck to everyone else, no matter what phase you're in, you really can do this!
Hi Denise,
I remember when I visited you in the hospital I knew then you were going to do wonderfully with your new life. Now here you are one year later healthier and happier than you ever thought you could be!
Your positive attitude has been the key to your success....keep up the terrific work, those last few lbs will come off, I promise. Have you adjusted your calories upward lately? Let me know if you need any help. Between my own experience and my leadership training I might be able to offer some suggestions.
Enjoy your day today. Bet you won't be celebrating with food
Hugs and good wishes
Susan
