I am very new to the forumns.  I have looked around about weight loss surgery for a few years now.  My aunt had surgery almost a year ago.  She looks and feels wonderful.  She used I believe Dr. Gibbs in Little Rock at the Baptist hospital.

I live in Fort Smith, AR I work for OK Foods and have Health Scope Insurance.  I was wondering if anyone has had luck with this insurance or something similar.   We have a prevision that says 2 year wait, but I have been here a year now and my doctor is going to see if they can do some sort of agreement with me and the company.  We don't know yet.    I am still looking for doctors, it seems the one my aunt uses doesn't accept my insurance so I was referred to a possible good area to look was in Fay/Springdale area.   The ones here, I have heard stories and now of people that have complications.  I look forward to reading more and hearing feed back.   Thanks!

Dr. Roller in Springdale takes this insurance and he is great. His web site is northwesthealth.com/weightloss. Also, there is a free seminar today at 3pm. His # is 479-757-3174. Good luck

Hi there, Lots of people travel from all over to go the the doctor that is the right fit for themselves.  What is most important is that you find a surgeon who you can feel confidant in from the beginning. I am a patient of Dr Gibbs' and can't say enough good things about him , his staff or my out come. Maybe you could call your insurance and find out what surgeons are on their list.  Might save you some steps in the long run. Traveling to Little Rock is doable, just need to get all your ducks in a row. Welcome to our forum. We're here for you if you need anything.

Thank you for all the wonderful response.. Carla I will be calling you soon, I work at ext 6357 for now, we are closing our location and I will be moving to Muldrow when that happens but will call you soon and chat.. thanks so much for your reply.  As for Dr. Gibbs, my aunt used him and has had a wonderful time with hers.. she is the healthiest I have ever know her, she was wearing a size 28 when she had surgery and is now a size 2 a little over a year later.. it is wonderful how she is doing.  I have looked at hima nd thought of attending one of his semiars as well.  Thanks so much for the information.   I look forward to reading more here and seeing what dr fits me best.  Thanks, Patricia
