After all this time I finally have my first apointment with Dr K Bruce Jones. It has been so hard to get an apointment with him. I go on the 17 of this month. Can anyone tell me what to expet on my first one? Also I am self pay, I wonder how long it wil take me to actually have the surgery. Has anyone had any bad effects from lap band? I was just concerned, if something happened you would have to pay again for the band to be fixed.[http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/wMQexd3/weight.png[/img]

Hi there, Sorry, I don't know anything about Dr Jones, but if you look to the left of this page there is a spot that says "other Arkansas resources",  and under that is a link to Find a bariatric  surgeon. There my be info there on him. One of the questions you should ask Dr Jones when you see him is what happens if there are complications and you need additional care. This is very important, especially if you're self pay! You should also ask him about paying for your fills as that is not usually included in your surgery price. Or, it might be, but you need to know up front. There are a growing number of banders here, hopefully they'll be able to give you more info. Take care!
