6 months out....

Hey everyone!!! I just wanted to check in and say hi! I'm on this borad everyday but don't find much time to post myself. Hopefully when my students and I get out of school for Christmas Break I will be able to post more. I do have an update on myself though.....so here goes..... I hit the six month anniversary since I had Lap Band on December 8th. ( I had it June 8th of this year)  I went for a fill yesterday and my official weight loss, according to the Dr. Wellborn's office, was 70 lbs. I was so excited. It feels so good to lose such a large amount of weight in what seems like so little time. I knew going in for the LapBand that people who have that kind of surgery tend to lose weight slower than people who have the gastric bypass but after much deliberation I decided that LapBand was the surgery for me. I have been very pleased with my results so far. I am so excited and ready to see the weight continue to fall off.  Just wanted to let everyone know how I am doing. Karen,   Congratulations!  70 pounds in 6 months is a remarkable accomplishment.  My lap-band was done on December 4, so I've had about 11 days since the surgery.  The first few days I was wondering if I had made the right decision.  But once the pain and extreme depression (apparently from the anesthesia) passed, I'm really happy now that I did it.  And hearing your story sure gives me encouragement.  Thank you so much for taking the time to post.

I am a teacher also and was banded by Dr. Wellborn on Sept. 25, 2007. I have lost 30 lbs. so far and feel so much better. I cannot wait to reach your weight loss. This is my first time on this board. Sue
