I am going to the seminar next Wed, so I will no more after that. All the insuraunce has told me so far is that I need 5 years of medical records showing that I have been overwieght. My job requires a physical every year so that was no problem for me. I have been overwieght all my life so I wont have no problem proving that I need the surgery. I also had to get a letter from my primary care doctor which he give me with no problems. They also recommend a BMI over 40 I also have that covered. As far as the horror stories I really have none to mention on the band that is why I am leaning toward that. I have researched my tale off on the band. I have done a little searching on the other types but I dont like the death rate and the bit about cutting the stomach. So I think I will stay away from that. I also like about the band is that if there is some problem with it that it can always be removed. My wifes friend recently had the band surgery and is a week out with no problems other than being sore but that is expected.

Hi, I had RNY done by Dr. Wellborn in january 2005, and I can tell you he is a great Doctor. If I ever need to see him just to ask questions I never have a problem. I recommend him 100%. Any other questions feel free to email me.

Hello, I had the LapBand surgery with Dr. Baker in September and absolutely love it!!! I have lost 43 pounds so far and am feeling great. I have had no problems with the LapBand at all. The total recovery from the surgery took a few weeks, but I was back to work quickly. I had the surgery on a Wednesday, and was at work the following Monday. I have heard a lot of good things about Dr. Wellborn. I hope everything works out and you are able to get the surgery. I was also scared of the gastric bypass. I just think it was too drastic for me, but that is my opinion. You should do what you think is right for you. And by the way, I am from Dardanelle, now live in Russellville, and work in Ola. So if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

I also live in Dardanelle..however I haven't had any surgery or anything..I"m on the 6 month diet my insurance company requires..so..yea..I guess I'll join a gym..see if I can hack it..try one last time before surgery..since I have to wait 6 months or more anyway.
