I bought a bottle of Centrum Chewables multivitamin/multimineral/supplement from wal-mart.  Is this okay to take as my daily multivitamin?  Should I take 1 or 2?  I really like this multivitamin, it has a great orangey taste to it and it's not to chalky.

the correct answer is to always check with your surgeon or nutritionist, but that's the ones that i take.  especially since you had rny, so you are dealing with malabsorption, you need to make sure you are getting the correct amount of vitamins, and flintstone chewables just won't cut it! i hesitate to tell you whether to take 1 or 2.  it can be a problem if you get too much of a vitamin (like iron) but then you also want to make sure you are getting enough.  as a bandster, i take 1 of those centrum chewables a day as well as a chewable calcium with vitamin d.

Definitely check with your surgeon and/or nutritionist.  I take Flintstones Chewables, 2 a day, and my labs have all been normal and I'm 11 months out from RNY.  I actually compared the Flintstones with the Centrum Chewables from wal-mart and the Flintstones chewables were more complete, so that's what I'm sticking with. Its great that you've found a multivitamin that you like!  Check with your surgeon on the dosage and you should be fine. Take care, Denise
