Anybody know about the tax laws about writing off your surgery?  I paid cash for mine, so that would be a good tax writeoff!

I do belive you can claim it. Out of pocket medical expenses, copays, ins premiums can be tax deductible. I claim the $135 a month I pay out for my sons braces, so I'm quite sure you can claim your surgery. MOM

I claimed the whole thing since I was cash pay.  I got a wonderful refund last year because of it.  You can also write off mileage to and from the doctor/hospital for fills and visits.

if you pay toll road to and from the doctor you can claim that too.
