Just wanted to let everyone know I got home last night around 7:30 and doing OK.  Found out last night around 3a.m. still need the pain med, just not ready to do without quite yet….  Dr. Baker was able to perform the Lap RNY, but he surgery lasted from 7:30a.m till around 11a.m Monday Morning.  My husband was about to go nuts…  There was scar tissue in the way, so Dr. Baker cleaned them up and was able to do the Lap.  So, now I’m on the clear/full liquids until Sunday, then soft diet---walking, walking, walking.  So far everything is doing great.  My journey on the loser bench has officially started!  Hope everyone has a wonderful Thankful Thanksgiving!

Welcome to the loser's bench!!!!  We're all so happy for you, and glad you're home safe and sound. Please do your best to keep sipping and moving around. The more of each you're able to do, the quicker you're going to feel better. We're here for you if you need us!

Susan

Thanks Susan!  I'm getting better each day... sipping... walking!  One thing I'm really missing right now....sleeping on my stomach.  Thanks for the support!

Thanks!  Also, thanks for making room for me on the bench…the bench is getting roomier as we speak with all the weight we all are losing

Thank you so much!  I’m doing pretty well, really better than I was expecting--- one of the lucky ones.  The only issue I seem to be having is trying to get all the fluids in.  I’m sipping but still don’t seem to get the 48oz in for the day.

I read your post that you have to drop some weight before your surgery; I wish you the best in your pre-op weight loss.  Your journey has just begun and you will be on the loser bench before you even have your surgery.  I wish you great success in your weight loss journey.  You Can, You Will, You Want to Be Successful and You Deserve It!

Congratulations on having your surgery!  Make sure you read over all the papers you have from Dr. Baker, I found that it really helped me alot in my first week or so.  Even though I had already read everything, there was a few certain pages that I read over and over, it was the pages on the diet progression.  Maybe I have bad memory or something, but whenever I got to the store, I just couldn't remember what exactly I could and couldn't have when I was on the full liquids and soft foods stages.

Thanks!  I totally understanding about reading those pages over and over again, I’ve been doing the same thing—checking and rechecking to make sure what I’m suppose to be eating.  I am having problems getting in all the fluids—any suggestions?  It seems like I’m sipping on water all day.

By the way, you are doing terrific in your own weight loss --I hope I do as well as you are doing in 3 months!  Keep up the good work!
