Anyone suggest doctor from jonesboro area

I live close to the Jonesboro Ar and would like recomendations for a Doctor in that area. I have considered Lap band for a couple of years now, but had no insurance so I saved the money myself. Now Im not really sure where to turn that I have the money. I would prefer Jonesboro because its only about 30 minutes away from my home. Any help on doctors or a guess at cost would be great. I used Dr. K. Bruce Jones in Jonesboro. He is great! I have not had one problem and I love my band. I'm not sure about the cost because I had insurance. I do know you have to go to one of his seminars before you see him. You can call his office and find out when the next seminar is or call St Bernards. Hope this helps.

Yes it does. Thank you very much. I found his name over the weekend and called this morning to get the date of the next seminar. So I guess I'll go from there. How long was it before you had your band after seeing him? He had really good reveiws, so it seems that he is a good doctor.

I went to the seminar in late November and had surgery January 25th. I think the first time I went for an appointment was a couple of weeks after the seminar. I really like Dr Jones. There are two in Jonesbor that do it but I had a few friends *****commend Jones so that's who I went with and have no regrets.  My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.

I know that Dr. Jones is an excellent surgeon. He has been practicing in Jonesboro for many years. I dealt with him in my job...I am an RN (retired bc of my health problems).

I am seeing him as well. I have seen him once so far. I went to a seminar about 2yrs ago, but he wants me to go to another. I am going to one on Dec 18. It would be great to meet if you are going to that one.

About the surgeries...the cost...I dont have insurance either, so I am paying for it myself. He told me that he charges less for those paying out of pocket..so at least we know we are getting a bit of a discount. Anything helps..

 

Im glad that I am not alone. Yes I am going to the seminar on December 18, I called this morning and gave them my name and to get the date. It would be nice to meet someone there that is in the same boat that I am in. What is the seminar for? I noticed that most doctors require that you attend one. Im not to sure of the location. I know where Washington is, but thats about it. I try to stay away from that part of town, two many one way steets!!!

The seminar just lets u meet the surgeon. He gives out lots of pamplets, etc..and goes over everything you need to know before you have surgery or before you make the decision. He goes over option, surgeries, and costs. Its filled with great information. You can also ask questions which is great.

The seminar is in the Annex building of St. Bernards which is not on Washington. Its at the back of the hospital, beside the parking garage and ER. We could always meet somewhere else in Jonesboro and drive there together..it might be easier...and parking at St. Bernards is horrible. I will probably get my husband to just drop me off...or drop us off, if you want to do it that way..just let me know

Wow, that sound great, they told me on the phone that it was at the St Bernards auditorium (not the best speller!!!) She said it was beside the Jonesboro Sun? Its sad I am in Jonesboro at least once a week and the only place I can get to is the shopping stores and Walmart. I work in Marked Tree which is about thirty miles away. I will leave work a little early that day, so I can maybe change clothes. Which really I guess you don't need to be dressed up. Might as well be confortable. I think this is a prettty good b day presant for me to. I have a b day in a couple of weeks.  It would be great to go with someone. We need all the friends we can get for this.

When I went it was in the auditorium beside the Jonesboro Sun. There is a parking lot right in front and we didn't have any problems parking. I had a friend who went about 3 weeks ago and that's where it was then too. Good luck to you two. It's the best decision I've ever made in my life. No regrets what so ever.

Hmmm, well I will call and find out for sure. I know when I did it before, it was in the Annex. I know the woman told me Annex, but she could have been mistaken.

Yeh, we all need friends...especially with an endeavor like this. I'm still so nervous...about everything. I haven't even gotten started yet...the anticipation is killing me lol

I wish I had started this months ago...instead of right here at the holidays..
