Thanksgiving

Well Thanksgiving is coming up.  For some of us here, it will be our first post-op Thanksgiving.  So I was wondering if some of our older post-ops could share their first post-op Thanksgiving stories.  And also some tricks or tips to surviving Thanksgiving, portion control and eating healthy.  Also feel free to post some healthy Thanksgiving recipes.  It seems that my roomie and I will be going to my sisters, so anything I cook, I need to cook for a family (atleast 8 or 9 plus me).  I am going to search the internet for sugar-free recipes this month, and also some healthy recipes to, I hope they taste good, LOL.

Excellent  idea! This will be my 1st also.  I plan on cooking for my family as usual, just not as many sweets and  much healthier food this year. Most of all we are just thankful for  being Family! This year, I am especially Thankful for having the energy to prepare Thanksgiving Dinner and still be able to enjoy my Family. Please post your ideas about Thanksgiving! Huggs, Rhonda

Hi, Susan.  I have been to the Recipe Forum plenty of times.  They do have some good recipes there.  I just thought it would be nice to see some of the recipes from our Arkansas members, and plus let everyone share their first post-op Thanksgiving stories for some of the newer post-ops.  I am looking forward to Thanksgiving this year.  Thanksgiving this year will be at my sister and her husbands (it is my little niece's first Thanksgiving) and everyone is excited about the healthy foods this year.  They want to be sure that I will be able to enjoy the food as much as they will, only just alot smaller serving, LOL.  But I definitly have to have pumpkin pie, even if it is only 1 bite.
