searching for bariactric surgeron St Edwards Mercy Medical Center Ft Smith Arkansas

I am looking for a biaratiric surgeon in Ft. Smtih Arkansas. My insurance covers the procedure if performed at St Edwards Mercy Medical Center. I am a Registered Nurse and am trying to search to gain insight as to be able to make an educated decision as to the surgeon I want to do my procedure. I have already talked to my primary doctor and he is in favor of me having the procedure and he is willing to follow up with me. I would like to have the surgery sometime  next year. I am currently fairly healthy, I dont want to wait until my health fails to have the procedure, rather I want to perserve the health I have.

Hello and welcome to Obesityhelp.com.   If you look up above on the left it says find a: bariatric surgeon | plastic surgeon | other professional | hospital, if you click on hospital and then click on arkansas, they show a list of hospitals and St. Edwards is on the list and they show one surgeon, Dr. Christopher Coleman MD ( http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/bariatric+surgeon+profile+Christopher+Coleman+rfn.html ) that page shows 2 users who have left a review about them.  You can go to their profiles and message them if you want, I am sure they would not mind telling you what they thought of Dr Coleman.  I don't know if there are other surgeons who use that hospital or not, Dr Coleman was the only one obesityhelp had listed.  Have you tried calling the hospital and asking them?  Good luck and I hope you come back and keep us posted on how you journey for WLS is going.

Amy Beth, I was wondering if he is affiliated with Cooper Clinic or if he has his own practice, do you know? I thought I was going to have to go to Russellville of Little Rock since Dr. Janes quit doing gastric bypass.

 

Just in case you all can't find anyone in Fort Smith. I also live in Fort Smith. I couldn't find one in the area that did the surgery. I went to Springdale to Dr. Roller. That was on 11-12-07. He was the closest I could find. BUt  he is an excellent Dr.
