Hello everyone, I am new on this website. So I am still learning my way around. My name is Ann and I am hoping to have WLS.  Right now I am in the process of getting approved by insurance. I attended the open house support group at Baptist back on Oct. 18th.  I think I met a couple of you there. Everyone is so nice and I gathered a lot of good information.  The guest speakers were wonderful.  I hope to meet more of you in the future.  I have been on this website lots of time but didn't get registered till today.  I have learned so much from reading you messages. I am looking forward to talking with you. Ann

Thanks to all of you for the warm welcome. I have got a lot of good information from this site. The kind of surgery I'm considering is the gastric bybass. I started out thinking I wanted the lap band but after going to Dr. Baker's seminar, I think I have changed my mind about that. I'm trying to get as much information as I can to make the right choice for me. Doing my homework...... And so I read the message boards and have learned a  LOT!!  Some good, some not so good. But I'm not discouraged. I have faith things will work out. Also, I wanted to tell you Susan, that you were such an inspiration to me and my sister at the open house. When you were reading your list, we both had tears in our eyes, not only for you, but because we both could relate to those things you were saying. Thanks for speaking, giving us hope, AND you look great!! Ann
