Oct support grp mtg----OPEN HOUSE!!!! 5:30-7:30

Hi One and All, Lauren Hill, the Bariatric Coordinator at Baptist Hosp. has asked me to let you know that the regular support group meeting is going to be an Open House for the Bariatric Dept..  Please note the change of time-----it will start at 5:30 and go to 7:30 There are supposed to be speakers, vendors and other good things going on. Rhonda D (horselady) and I have been as to be two of the speakers. Lauren asks that any of you who wish to bring before and after photos with you to the open house are encouraged. This counts as your support group meeting, so if you are pre-op, it's the perfect time to get more information about WLS. You all know how shy I am  so come to this so I can see some friendly faces out there! p.s.....Lauren's having food catered in too

I am new and I believe I am attending a meeting on the 11th. I think! I will have to check my calendar. I have to attend a support group meeting and get an attendance slip that I attended. I am nervous because naturally like everyone else who is or has been overweight does not like drawing attentino to themselves and I am a sorta quite person. I hope that it is informative and I hope to see many success stories as I am nervous now that my paperwork is being submitted to the insurance. I keep second guessing myself. I am the major "WORRY WART" of my family.  Nervous as all get out. Well I hope to meet some friendly people.

Hi there, Believe me, no one worries more than I do!  But, it's only natural and we've all been right where you are now. The wait for the insurance approval may seem long, but not as long as waiting from the time you get your date to the day of your surgery. There are lots of very well informed and experienced people here on this board  and a good many of us are at the support group meetings at Baptist. Hope you come to the Open House (remember, it WILL count as your required support grp mtg). Introduce yourself and join the gang. It's a great bunch!

Hey,  Just wanted to let everyone know that the meeting will be at a different time.  The open house starts at 5:30 instead of 6:30.  I have been told that there will also be door prizes, and who doesnt like to win stuff.  Lets all come out and show our support of pre ops and let everyone know how wonderful life is now that we have been given a chance to live again.   Susan, did you say you were shy???? Must have been your twin writing that email babe!!!  I mean, come on, shy and 34 Longs???? Please, do tell!!! Bring all your friendly faces out so that Susan and I will not feel like we are talking to abunch of strangers.  Hope all can come.

Oh I hope I can go.  Thanks for the advance notice, I may be able to bribe my sister to take me and give her a little money and her and her husband (and baby) can go out and eat somewhere in town.  It sounds like the "Don't Miss" meeting of the year!! 

What's the date on that meeting again?  I really want to come and need to make sure I have child care lined up and am off work early enough to make it to Little Rock.  Looking forward to meeting y'all! Christy

Aww shucks!  I wish support group meetings were on Saturdays! I can't make it but I sure would love to go. I live 2 hrs away and don't get off of wor****il 5pm. Boohoo!!
