Pain....

I have a question....everytime I drink, sip, or whatever ANY TYPE of liquid, it makes my stomach cramp up.  It doesn't matter if it is water, juice, or protein....it really hurts. I see the doctor on Tuesday, but has this happened to anyone else here? I can't stand it, and it's been going on for about a week now. It makes it really hard to get all of my liquids in because I know my stomach will cramp up with every drink. Is this normal?

Sorry this is happening to you, there must be an explanation for it. My first thought is the temp of the liquid. Is is really cold?  If it isn't, then it's a good thing you're seeing Dr Baker Tuesday,  you can find out then. If it's really bothersome I'd call his office on Monday. Take care

Susan

It can be cold, hot, or room temperature. It does the same thing each and every time.

Does it do the same thing when you eat?
Do you stop drinking 30 minutes before and 90 minutes after you eat?
The only times that I ever had trouble with drinking was if I tried to drink a sip after I ate.  Also I had a vitamin pill stuck one time and I had trouble with my liquids but that went away when I woke up the next morning.

Let us all know what Dr Baker says Tuesday, I am curious as to what is causing this.

No, not when I eat...and on the dietary call we listened to, Courtney said no drinking for at least 30 minutes after you eat.  I will try to keep from it longer and see if it helps, but even as I go thru the day and try to sip, it hurts.

Ok, had my appointment with Dr. Baker today...I had to call him Sunday night because I was in soooo much pain.  What was happening was I was taking in too much liquid too fast.  Instead of sipping 2-3 oz an hour, I was trying to get all my liquids in too fast.  I slowed down, and I feel better. Everything went really well at the doctor. He cut my "fishing line" looking suture, and said I was right on track!
