HELP ITS GETTING CLOSE

Just to throw my .02 cents in, I love my lap band.  I didn't want my insides rearranged, and I have a bunch of plates and screws in my arm from a fracture, so I wasn't freaked out by something foreign in my body at all!  I loved that it was adjustable.  I can eat pretty much what I want to, though in small amounts, and I stay away from bread or anything else I can't chew down into mush.  I even do okay with a little rice, as long as it has lots of sauce on it and isn't too dry. That being said, if you can't stay away from junk food and sweets, then lap band may not be for you.  That isn't a problem for me at all.  If I never had chocolate again, I wouldn't even blink.  But tell me I can't have cheese dip and there's gonna be a fight!  I have no problem saying no to sweets, which are so soft and easy to eat.  I could physically eat/drink 8 milkshakes, cakes, cookies, ice cream, etc. every day with my lap band.  However, I didn't do that before, so I don't now.   The RNY surgery will "teach" you really quickly if you try to eat those things!  You will have dumping episode and get so sick so fast on sugary, high fat foods.  So that's why a lot of people choose RNY.  THey need that "extra motivation" to stay away from their trigger foods! I do love my lapband, because I can still eat my trigger foods, I just can't binge on them anymore!  Hallelujah!  Praise God for freedom! Best of luck for you for whatever you decide. Casey
