Okay, I know someone on here knows the answer to this one. I am 4 months out and I have stalled big time. I have actually gained three pounds this week. In the four months I have only lost 46 pounds. Exactly how many calories should I be eating at this point in time? I went to the other board and the numbers just don't sound right, but I know we have someone on here that will know. Help, please.

Oh, I guess I should let you know what I have been doing in case anyone has any ideas. My protein intake is between 75 - 85 per day, my water is 70 oz, and I exercise each day for about 30 minutes total (5 minutes at a time, jogging in place), I am currently eating around 1100-1400 calories per day. And most of this comes from my mild, shakes, cheese, and meat.

Hi There, Did you know you can call JoBeth at Baptist and ask her questions? You could also send her an e-mail. She's very good about responding. I'd tell her what your numbers are and have her give you a hand. Her phone is:   501-202-2117 e-mail :  jobeth.mcelhanon@baptist_health.org Take care

Thank you so much, I have been looking all over trying to find her information. I was on the internet and could not find Dr. Gibbs website or JoBeth's link. I will e-mail her tonight and find out what I am doing wrong. Thanks, Susan, I knew someone on here would be able to point me in the right direction. Have a good night.

Hi,   I just wanted to jump in here for a minute.  At 5 months I emailed JoBeth and asked what my caloric intake should be, because I was getting around 800 calories a day.  She said anywhere from 800-1000 was good for where I was post-op.  She broke it down for me like this: Calories from good carbs (fruits, veggies, whole grains)=50% of 1000 total calories Calories from fat=no more than 30% of 1000 total calories, sat. fat=no more than 10% Calories from protein=20-25% of 1000 total calories The only thing I really watch is my fat intake, I eat very low fat.  I track everything on www.fitday.com , I enter what I've eaten and it breaks it down into how much calories, fat, carbs, and protein is in each food...its a great way to keep track of it. Call or email JoBeth, she may tell you something entirely different.  In fact, I'll be interested to find out what she does tell you! Take care!

Thanks for the information, I did not want you to think I had forgotten you, but I am just waiting on Jo Beth to e-mail me back. I e-mailed her at the beginning of last week and still have not heard back. As soon as I find out what she has to say I will post. Again thanks, this gives me something to focus on.

I just got a e-mail fro JoBeth, and she said at this point I should not be eating more than 800-1000 calories. So I guess that is my problem, I better start cutting some things out. She also said not solid food snacks between meals. And here all along I thought I was supposed to be eating 3 meals and 2 snacks, just did not know the snacks were supposed to be liquid like shakes. Well I guess this is my lesson for the day. I hope this helps anyone else that maybe in the same boat I am. Maybe when I cut the 200 calories out I might start loosing again, here goes.

GOD BLESS   Cynthia
