It's done.
Well, I am now 10 days post-op. It was HELL! Of course I had to be one of the "few" patients to have post-op nausea that lasted FOREVER. I was regretting every minute of this surgery until about 2 days ago. Now, I just hurt. Is that normal? I thought since I started feeling better, I was on the mend, but now it really hurts. It hurts on the inside. I pray that I haven't "ripped a staple" or something. I don't know. I hope this will all be worth it in the end.
What kind of weightloss surgery did you have? I had the RNY gastric bypass. I felt like crap for about 2 weeks, and even got depressed. I'm at the end of my 3rd week postop and have only now felt okay. Hardly any pain except from my peg/drain tube, but that is because it has healed all around it and the skin has tightened around it.
I had a lot of pain inside, and it is normal. I felt like if I layed a certain way or sat a certain way that everything was ripping inside me. I think it is because inside we were cut in two and it is healing together so it is going to hurt if a little strain is put on it. I am sure you didn't rip a staple or anything.
I still am not sure if this will all be worth it, but I have been assured by many many postops that it will be, and I believe them. I felt just like you did not long ago, and soon you will begin to enjoy your decision to have surgery more and more.
