Frustrated

I am 3.5 weeks post op lap band.  I can nearly eat now what I ate before the surgery.  I have lost about 18 pounds from the 2 weeks before surgery until now but since the surgery, I have only lost about 13.  I am still very sore, still have some scabbing on the incisions.  I still am not sleeping well thanks to the port pain.  I go for my first fill this Wednesday so I am really hoping that will be the turning point.  Have any of you gone thru any of this?  The amount of food tolerated before the fill? Frustration with very little weight loss after the surgery and how long does this abdominal pain last? I am really tired of being sore all the time.  I am tired and weak all the time.  Just a note to say if this is the norm or am I abby normal?    I think I could sleep all the time.  I am waiting on my Vemma solution to come in, now am doing the Centrum chewable vitamins.  Has anyone tried the Vemma solution?  If so, does that help with your energy level? Sorry, lots of questions.... Thanks, Angela

Hi Angela, Wow...13 lbs in three weeks is pretty great if you ask me! That's four lbs a week for goodness sake. First of all I have to say I don't know a thing about lab banders, but I do know you've had surgery and all it's related assaults on your system, so you're bound to need some time to start feeling better. You're lucky to be seeing your Dr on Wednesday to be able to get some of your questions answered. As far as the Vemma goes, I just go a sample from my physical therapist last week. Let me tell you, I could have cleaned the Peabody hotel!!!  It really tasted good, and I'm seriously thinking about changing over to it instead of my other supplements. How did you find out about it?  Just curious, I'd never heard of it. Take care

Susan, Dr. Luttrell has been so impressed with Vemma that he offers it thru his office.  He may even change his post op orders to include this instead of those awful chewable vitamins.  He wants to do a little more research on i****ch how his patients respond and what they think before he decides to change his orders.  I am glad you like it tho, that gives me a little encouragement. I am 5 weeks post op and I don't have any port pain.   Maybe it's something simple the doctor can fix or adjust.

As for the weight loss, you're doing great!  The first 6 weeks after surgery is for healing.  Any loss during that  time is icing on the cake!   Hang in there!

Unfortunately it took 2 fills before I really had any restriction with my band.   It seems like it takes a couple of weeks for the fill to really kick in, so I already had my second fill scheduled when my first kicked in just a little.   I was glad that I went ahead and had the second fill because I have been good to go for a couple of months now.   When you get your fills you will see a difference in the amount that you can eat and the pounds will start to come off.     I take Vemma and I really like it.   I have never been a vitamin person so this is all new to me.  I read where is cures most everything but since I didn't have a lot wrong with me except  my weight I can't tell that much of a difference.  I have been feeling great and I don't know if it is the Vemma or the weight loss.   Probably both. Hope you get you energy back soon.   I know you will. Charlet

What is Vemma? Liquid or pill and what is it supposed to do?
