Hello everyone, im very new, but hope to get to know everyone better soon!!

I recently called dr gibbs in little rock after reading about him here. They set me up for a siminar on Nov. 30th, seems as expected he is very busy with patients like me who will need to use medicare as thier insurance. I have read tons on the different surgeries and hope to have the band done, however besides attending this siminar i have no idea how to start down what seems to be a long road to getting everything approved and preformed. I would be eternally gratful for any advice you wise folks might be able to share with me. BTW I already have a CPAP and due to the two years it took me to get disabilty approved I already have medicare as of last month, Thank you all in advance for all your help!!!! BIG HUGS to all, Dazed, confused and hopeful in harrison,AR =)

Hi Dazed I'm a patient of Dr Gibbs too!  I'm coming up on my one year surgerversary on 9/14 and have lost 102 lbs, made my goal weight about two weeks ago. Glad to hear you're going to a seminar to find out more about this journey. Have you done much research on the different types of procedures?  His seminars are very informative and you'll be glad you took the time to go. We're here for you every step of the way. Good luck, and welcome to the Gang!

I had lap band done last year with Dr. Wellborn in Little Rock.  I was a self pay and don't know much about medicare but I know he has seminars every month.  He is a very good doctor and has been doing lap band for many years.  He even teaches other doctors how to do the procedure. If you have any lap band questions I would be glad to help.  Check out Dr.  Clay Wellborn's website. Good luck

Dr. Gibbs should send you a letter that details everything you need to do (labs,psch,ect..) before going to see him. If they havent call and ask for it.Good Luck!!
