Hi everyone!!  I have a medicaid and want  wls. I have met all their requirments..and there are alot, have had a pshciatry work-up and appoval, met with a dietician, had all my blood work done, have a BMI of 53, have obeseity related health problems and have the consent of my primary doctor and my nuroligist, but heres the catch I only have 4 years of doctors records. The doctor I consulted would not even requst appoval from medicaid because evidently they require a full 5 years of medical recards showing morbid obeseity before they will apporve. Now I find this soo ridiculas! Why would you want to make a mobidly obese person wait one more day..much less an extra year??? Does anyone know of any kind of loop-hole or exception?      Ihave been obese for 12 years but only became morbidly obese about 5 years ago, about the same time I got divorced, at wich time I lost my insurance so I didnt go to the doctor for about a year****ill I was able to afford my own insurace). Then about a year after that it was discovered I have DDD (deginerative disk desease) after a few months of constant pain. So now with the pain and the constant gaining of weight do to the inablity to excercise I am just so frustrated!! I cant work now so I do have medicaid, but that is all I dont have SSI or anykind of cash assistance so paying cash for surgery is out of the question. I want to work so badly! I want to play with my kids! I want to live!          If anyone knows anything that might be able to help please please let me know.                                                                        Thanks You

I don't have an answer for you but I wish you the very best in finding a way to make WLS happen without waiting another year.
