Well, good morning my fellow Arkies, and other lurkers.  You guys will never guess what Ive done!!!!  I GOT A JOB!!!!!  Holy Cow, Im so scared, nervous, excited and kinda unsure, but hey, we gotta start somewhere.  Im going to work today in the Admissions office of the local hospital.  It is the first time I have worked since September 2003.  I am finally able, I hope, to go back to work and get my life back.  This brings tears to my eyes thinking about how blessed we are to have this surgery and conquer our lives once again.  Keep me in your thoughts and prayers, and I'll be sure and let everyone know how it goes this evening. Hugs to all of you, its a new week, lets get all of our stuff in, protein, water, walking and vitamins.   Here I go..... Rhonda D.

Rhonda, I am so happy, excited and proud for you!  You've worked so hard for this day, I hope it's all you want it to be. What a great job for you, too!  I bet you'll be really good at it, you're such a caring and compassionate person. Please keep us posted.....we're going to want to know how you did on your first day. Play well with others now! Hugs

kudos on the job.....makes ya feel important.....at least it did me.

I have said it numerous times....we have been given a second chance at life regardless of if it was RNY or LAPBand.......we need to grasp life by the horns and run.....really fast...no one cares if you start to giggle cause your flab is bouncing...just run.....like forrest gump. and keep running. my life has changed so much. I got a car, a job, a divorce (hehehe), I make my own money, pay my own bills. I am no longer hiding myself...I look in the mirror everyday...see some areas that need lifted and tucked but ya 6.5 years ago I never looked in the mirror...stopped wearing makeup, stopped fixing my hair.  I want to go places and do things. I am not 100% happy with the daily grind, but I am eager to get out and see what I kept shut out of my life for so long. I can go into most stores and buy something off the rack. I can safely go into the grocery and know that my cart is not going to be filled with coke and little debbies.....I know now that people are looking at me for reasons other than to laugh at my size. good luck and keep me posted

huggs Tammy
