My Second H&P and Pre-Admit on Friday
Well Friday my sister and I (and her little wittle baby) headed to LR to meet with Dr. Baker for my follow-up H&P and when I was weighed, you would never guess what it said...I lost 22lbs and then Courtney took me in her office and measured me, and I LOST 5 INCHES!!! That's from 2 1/2 weeks of pre-op shakes, they said I did real good, better than some of th people on shakes!! I told her how I am doing 30 minutes low impact aerobics and 30 minutes beginner tae-bo each day and she was just excited about all of that. I got so many praises from her and Dr Baker came into the room and was all smiles and praises to me. He gave me many compliments on how well I was doing.
He expects that by surgery day I will be 365! And you know what I said? Then I guess I better work harder and lose more than that and he was happy! He asked me why it took me so long to start exercising in my life and what was different about this time (referring to diets in my life) and I said that SHAKES! The shakes motivate me.
So then I went to BMC and pre-admitted, they did the labwork, ABG, EKG, chest xray and they gave me my soap and the respiratory guy, Barry (who was hot), showed me how to use the breathing thing that I will bring with me on surgery day. I am to report at 9:30 am on Aug 15th (which is around the corner) and my surgery is slated for 12:30.
I wrote a long blog entry if anyone wants to read my whole day friday.
So thought I would share with everyone, thanks for all the support.

Eve,
I am sooooooooooo excited for you!!!! Way to go, 22 lbs!!! Dang, I only lost 7. Dr. Baker is such a wonderful man, and he will take such good care of you post op you will know why we sing his praises like songbirds.
I have embarked on a new adventure, and am really really nervous. I have started work again, after being on disability for 3 1/2 years. I start today at the hospital here, doing admissions. Thats what I was doing when I had to go home in 2003. Keep me in your thoughts, and I'll sure be thinking of you. Hope to see you next week at support group, if Im off work in time. Gee, that sounds wierd!!!!
Hugs,
Rhonda D.
