I am seeing dr.baker. How long did you have to wait to get a surgery date if you have only medicare?

There's no specific time limit.  It all depends on how long it takes YOU to get everything in, such as labwork results, sleep study results (or if you are already on a CPAP then a printout from your smartcard), psych evaluation and anything else he will want from you.  He also requires that you attend his seminar, go to 1 support group meeting at Baptist Hosp in LR (which is the 2nd Thursday of every month) and also do a dietary teleconference (which is every wednesday, his site has more info).  Once you have done your part, they will call you and give you a time and day to come and see the Dr and usually your surgery can be scheduled in as little as 2 weeks from your first appt with Dr Baker.  When you sign up for his Patient Hub at the bottom of the page is a list of things you can download, be sure to download and print if you have a printer the Medicare page because it lists everything you need to have done before he will see you and that way you can mark everything off as you get it done. Hope that helps you.  I started in Feb getting everything ready and I saw him last month and am scheduled for Aug 15th for surgery.

I filled out all of the stuff on the medicare list March 16th went to Seminar on April 2 att he time of Seminar I only had the psych evaluation left to complete. I had a consult date of May 27th with a surgical date of June 27th it is very important for you to print the medicare list of requirements! take them to the PCP and get started. I was VERY aggressive and quite annyoing Im sure when trying to make sure everything had been faxed to the office.  the ladies at his office are very sweet and overworked....they will not hold your hand and walk you gently through the steps...they do NOT have the time. He will not see you or do surgery until you have completed all of the steps.

GOOD LUCK on this journey to a new you! nutti
