Nutritionist at Baptist support meeting this month

    JoBeth, the nutritionist at Baptist, told me in an e-mail that she is scheduled to speak at the June 14th meeting of the WLS support group at Baptist. I think we should all meet in the lobby and sit together Show them who knows what! Let's do it!! Who's in?

I'm in!!!!  I checked my husband's schedule and he's off so I can come.  What time is the meeting?  I've never been to one.   Sounds like fun, can't wait to see everyone.

Hi Denise, I've only been to one, got there late and left early....long story for another time. Anyway, I think they're at 7:00 p.m., but I'll call there tomorrow and make sure. Let's talk it up on here and see if we can get a whole bunch together. See? I'm feeling better and out to get into mischief!

IM GOING IM GOING IM GOING, Oh Susan, did I mention IM GOING!!!  The meetings start at 6, and yeah, lets lobby.  Except for the fact that Lauren knows I cut up.  I have only missed one meeting and that was when I was in the hospital.  I have made some great friends there, that arent on OH, and so I go just for the social aspect as well as the wonderful support.  The best part is that Lauren Hill usually asks for How long are you out and How much have you lost, then she adds all the lost pounds together and gives us a total for how much we have lost.  Its really exciting.  I think once you attend one meeting, you shall be hooked for life.   And now that I have a car that gets 32 MPG, I no longer have to take out a loan to go, HA HA HA!!  I plan to come early, do some thrifting, and maybe get to Baptist early, and see who shows up.  Shall I make a sign that says, "OH gang rules!!!"?  Bring my paddle so when Susan gets on the table I can get her down!!!!!  (I LOVE YOU SUSAN!!!)   I know Johnnie Wynn will be there, and hopefully Johnnie Socia and Sherry.  Rhonda T I hope and maybe Angie T.  And anyone else who can make it.   I want in on the mischeif Susan!!!! I missed the one in May so I will plan to be there on the 14th.  I go tomorrow for my 3 week check up.  I'm really excited to see how much I've lost.  I am wearing jeans today that I've not worn in more than a year - AND THEY'RE ALMOST TOO BIG! That is very exciting.  Of course since no one ever gets rid of their skinny clothes - I still have alot to wear.  My husband calls it closet shopping.  I hope to be able to see alot of you at the meeting.  It's exciting to get to actually meet you guys.  Debra are you going to be able to come?  AT

Hey Angie, can't wait to hear how you've done your first few weeks!  Are you feeling good? Closet shopping....great description. My poor closet is so sad. I have about 6 outfits to my name now. Hate to buy more right now, and since I don't know what kind of permanent brace I'm getting, I don't know what kind of pants to buy. Oh well, don't have any money to buy anything right now, so it's just as well. Can't wait to get together at the support group meeting. Do you think Lauren will make us sit away from each other if we make too  much of a racket???LOLLOL Hugs

Hi there Susan~ I will be moving to Sherwood, AR in the middle of July.  Can you tell me when the NEXT meeting will be.  I would love to join in and get some support!  Thanks in advance for your help.

I don't know if you ever got an answer or not but I think the meetings are usually the second Thursday of the month at the Baptist hospital in Little Rock.  Welcome to Arkansas!  We usually all wear shoes and try not to spit our tobacco in public :) 

LOL!  Thanks for the response.  Do you drive all the way from Beebe to attend the support meetings!?!?  WOW!  Or is there a support closer to Jacksonville/Beebe etc?  Dh will be working on the Air Base.   Thanks in advance.  I am happy to report that I have spent 6 preliminary weeks in AR and LOVED it, the people are so friendly and kind.   Perhaps we will meet one day~
