YEAH! Got doctor go ahead today!

Just had to share my news with you guys! It is such a relief! When my doctor left his private practice to go into a hospital setting I really was fretting that my new doctor would not see all the health issues that have developed and give me the go ahead - a requirement of my surgeon. Well, he was very thorough and listened to me, saw my chart full of problems and realized how lucky I am to not have heart or diabetic issues in spite of all the other things that could head there. He was very receptive to the LapBand procedure that I want to have and didn't have any problem supporting that choice! So, my first spot to come share the news was right here. I know that some don't have doctors who support WLS as a cop out but I have tried everything from prescriptions to programs and if I had the money thrown at them I would have all I needed to pay for this out of pocket! I have spent a fortune and I think you guys sure know what I am saying! Well, that is it. Just had to share. Carol Braman Bella Vista resident

Congratulations on the first step! I remember being very worried that my PCP wouldn't agree that I needed the surgery but my appointment with him was very positive and encouraging so I (as usual) worried for nothing. You keep going - you'll be sitting where I am soon - 4 days post-op and ready for a full future!
