After having tried and tried getting hold of someone in Dr. Bakers office, I got a message through their patient hub from Becky saying they haven't recieved anything. I am soo aggravated, because I just saw my Dr the other day and I was rushed there (no fault of my Dr though because she had just recieved a message that a family member was dying and had to leave) and so I didn't get to go through my records to see if they have sent everything in yet. Now I have to make another appointment though and go over everything that needs to be sent in. I just wish Dr Baker's office would have replied back sooner though and let me know this. My Dr's office should have mailed in everything over a month ago too. It feels like I am still at the beginning of this whole process and the longer it takes for everything to get done, the more longer it will take for my surgery to happen.

So sorry you're getting this run around. I didn't have any problems with my surgeon's office, they are saints, but I had a problem with my PCM. It took them over a month to fax the necessary information to my insurance. All they had to do was fill out a form, which they already had, and fax it to my insurance along with a letter of medical necessity. My husband and I called or went up there every day and kept getting told they were waiting for the doctor to finish the letter. Finally, after a solid month, we received notice from our insurance that they had the information and the letter of necessity? Two sentences that basically said "this patient would benefit greatly by having gastric bypass surgery" I could have screamed, a month for that? But it all worked out in the end. I understand your frustration. Just know that we're here for you anytime you need to vent. Hang in there, it will happen and when it does you'll forget all this nonsense because you'll be well on your way. And the end result is definitely worth the wait. Keep us posted. Take care, Denise

That has to be very frustrating! I was extremely fortunate to avoid those issues. My insurance, PCP and Dr. Gibbs office staff have all been responsive and prompt. Try to be patient, but don't be a pushover. Try and express, without becoming angry, how frustrated you are to your doctor so that maybe they can understand. I'm not using Dr. Baker, but I have heard alot of good things about him and know several people who have used him with great success. I think alot of the doctors are getting swamped now that they can bill to Medicare. That's a good thing because now a section of the population can get the service that before couldn't. Of course that means until things level out, it will be a little crazy. I will have to say though, I have never spoken to Dr. Gibbs staff that I felt like I was not being attended to. They talked to me like I was the only person they were concerned about and was not in any rushed to answer my question and get me off the phone. It was like that from the very first phone call. I can wait a few hours or even days to get that kind of attention. I say all that to say this - if you are still uncomfortable with the level of service you're getting - do something. Don't wait until you're really sorry that you didn't - above all YOU have to be comfortable with your dr and their staff. If you have any hesitation, then make a decision.

Well both my dr and the psychiatrist called me and said they had faxed everything in, my Dr stating they had done it 2 months ago and the psych 1 1/2 months ago. I don't know why Dr Bakers staff wouldn't have ANYTHING on me at all. Well they both faxed everything again a few weeks ago, and still have not heard back from Dr Bakers office. I am getting very frustrated with them, because they simple DO NOT return calls or emails, regardless of how many calls or emails I send. How am I supposed to know how things are coming along, if his office wont talk to me? If they are getting too busy from too many patients, then maybe they should stop taking patients for a while until they can get caught up. Well I thought I would make a reply on my post, and also vent some frustration out at the same time. I think there are some here who are having trouble with Dr Baker's office staff as well.
