I was wondering what all vitamins does Dr. Gibbs require you to take after your surgery? I know with my husbands surgery he has to take 2 multivitamins, 2 calciums, and a B-12. Is this the same for Dr. Gibbs? If it is different from his I need to buy some before I go in NEXT FRIDAY. God Bless Cynthia

To piggy back on this question - are these prescription or over-the-counter? I remember reading somewhere that Flintstone chewables are a good option but I can't remember where.

Jo Beth, the dietician for Dr. Gibbs, will give you a book on everything you need post-op and in it will be a list of recommended vitamins. She'll also go over it with you when you meet with her, if you're having your surgery at Baptist. I take a Flintstone chewable twice a day, a calcium supplement twice a day (Citrical w/ vitamin D petites) and a B-12 shot once a month. The only thing he absolutely requires is the multi-vitamin and calcium, the rest depends on your labs. You'll start your multi-vitamin a week after surgery and your calcium 4 weeks after surgery. Hope this helps, if I've left out anything hopefully someone else will fill it in! Take care, Denise

Thanks for all the help. If the multivitamin, calcium and B-12 is all he requires I am set, because my husband already has to take those. Thanks GOD BLess. Cynthia
