Wow...you've done great!! I wouldn't worry about a slow down right now, you're body has been through so much, so quickly. If you took your measurements before your surgery, now would be a great time to re-measure. You're going to be surprised how many inches you can lose when the scale isn't moving at all.
I'm assuming that you're getting in all of your liquids and following JoBeth's guidelines? This is when I gave my husband my scale and made him hide it from me.....don't let it make you crazy!!!!
Don't stress, be Happy!!!

My clothes are fitting better. Some of my pants are sagging and shirts that I couldn't button before the surgery I can now button. I used to wear most shirst with a shell and now I don't need them.
Yes, I'm getting in most of my liquids. I usually drink 48 - 80 oz of liquid a day. I drink at least 1 protein shake and I take 2 servings of liquid protein(3T=18g). I eat 3 meals a day and portiion out my food. Leftovers is something. I went and got me a foodsaver because I love to cook and I was having entirely too many leftovers and I've never been a fan for eating something more than twice.
No, I didn't measure before surgery, but maybe now is a good time to do so. That way I will be able to see if I'm making progress.
It's funny before the surgery none of this mattered. I just went with the flow. Now I can't stay off the scale.
At what stage can you eat protein bars?
Hi there 32 lbs. in 4 weeks is awesome!! I'm three months out and am just now down 35 lbs. I'm a slow loser. I lost 13 lbs. the first week then nothing, not an ounce, for three weeks...imagine my frustration. But then I started losing again and now I lose about 1-2 lbs. a week. I can't stay off the scale either, but I only record my weight and measurements once a week. You definitely need to measure, you'll be surprised how many inches can fall off of you without you losing a single pound. Also remember that if you're working out, you're probably building muscle, which weighs more than fat. So you may actually be losing inches and pounds but gaining muscle...just something to think about.
You're perfectly normal. Our bodies need time periodically to "catch up" with the weight loss. Just keep doing what you know is right...fluids, protein, exercise, proper nutrition...and you'll see the scales moving again. Hang in there, it will happen! And please come back if you have more questions, that's what we're here for!
Take care,
Denise
I forgot to answer your question about protein bars. I started eating them at about 2 months out, you're almost there. I don't eat them everyday, but some days I'll eat one for breakfast or lunch. I eat the Atkins Advantage bars, they are pretty good, low carbs, several of them have no sugar alcohols (which some people cannot tolerate) and range from 13-17grams of protein per bar, depending on the size.
Hope this helps!
Denise
I noticed the same thing starting about the 7th week. Then I compared some photos of me taken just a couple weeks earlier and I saw that I am still losing, but the scale wasnt showing it.
The best part about WLS is when you start to doubt, you cant break your diet like I used to. You stay the course (because you dont have many other options) and then teh weight comes off and everything averages out.
Keep up the good work!!
