Surgery Interest

I am attending Dr. Gibbs seminar next Friday and I'm still not sure what I'm doing. I'll be seeing my PCP on Wed for my referral, and have contacted my insurance (BlueAdvantage) to see what the guidelines are to qualify. What else? Or will I really find all that out at the seminar? I guess my main question is would you do it again? Is the whole process worth it?

It is definately worth every thing you have to go through. You will get a lot of information at the seminar. If you get a packet in the mail and fill it out and bring it with you to the seminar, it will go faster. Bring everything you have with you so if they ask you will have it. They have you list your past diets and you need to write down EVERYTHING you have done to lose weight. The more information the better. I'm glad you mentioned that about past diets. Do they really want everything? Even if it was only a couple of weeks? I initially have only listed the things that I was successful losing with (of course it all came back and more!). I've tried tons of things over the last 10 years for a month - but with no success.

I am a 55 year old woman who weighs 345 lbs, with severe arthritis in both knees, high blood pressure, diabetes, and damage to my heart from phen fen. I am considering lap band surgery before I die. I have researched for a doctor in the Jonesboro area and found one. Can anyone give me any references? thank You

Kaitlynn I used Dr K Bruce Jones in Jonesboro and loved him. He did my lap band on Jan 25th in St Bernards hospital. I would highly recommend him.

Thank you for responding to me...Can I just call his office and find out when they will be having a seminar again..Or do they to that? I am so scared, and really need to talk to them and hear what they do and recommend..How is it doing for You? 2 months into it..do you have any regrets? I know this is a lot of questions..I am just so scared...

I think they want everything. That is what I gave them and they did not have to ask me for a thing. I even wrote on the back of the page. Good luck and if you have anymore questions please feel free to ask. Terri
